How to get sound when connecting Laptop to TV Home Entertainment System?

When connecting laptop to tv via S cable, i do not get sound, either on tv or home entertainment system. I only get sound from laptop. Both the tv and home entertainment system are sony bravia and the laptop is a compaq presario. You need a cable with a 3.5mm audio jack (male) to plug into your Laptop at one end, and a male RCA (or composite) to plug into your TV on the other end.
The TV RCA audio inputs will be red and white and located near the S-video input I’m sure!
(The yellow one is for video but you don’t need it as you have S-Video connector)
You can pick up 2 or 3 metre cables for under $5 if you know where to look - google shopping perhaps?
Check this one - it’s the first result on google shopping for me (to give you an idea of what you need)
Or else your local audio or computer store but they will most likely charge you in excess of $10.
